Emerald Coast Therapeutics’ Professionals

  • Joshua Hostetter, MA, LPC, LMHC

    Licensed Counselor/Owner

Hello, I’m a Licensed Counselor, Business owner, Husband, Father, Soccer Coach, Entrepreneur, Runner, and nature enthusiast. I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, while also pursuing my ordination in ministry within the Church of the Brethren. My post-higher educational experience has led me to explore more deeply the mind-body connection through such certifications as Schema Therapy, addictions, trauma, and integrative medicine.

I offer outpatient mental health services for those needing emotional, mental, or psychological support. I have worked within community mental health, community addictions, and private practice fields of counseling. I also offer spiritual direction and faith support for those seeking guidance in that area of their life.

In my work with adolescents and adults, I seek to provide a safe place to explore any insecurity or struggle so that fear and pain does not need to be faced alone. Utilizing both cognitive and schema counseling techniques, I strive to provide effective and authentic interventions to promote positive change and movement towards health and wellness in your life.

  • Sarah Canterbury

Master’s Level Mental Health Counselor Intern

I am a graduate level licensed mental health counselor intern, set to graduate with my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Troy University in May 2023.

I have a heart that resonates with the challenges individuals, parents, and couples face, and a commitment to help those seeking emotional healing and healthier relationships. I have a passion for helping clients overcome challenges related to anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties.

I work with children, teenagers, adults and couples. My approach to counseling is deeply informed by attachment theory, which underscores the significance of early relationships in shaping an individual's emotional development. Recognizing that secure attachments provide a foundation for healthy relationships, she adeptly guides her clients through processes of self-discovery, fostering resilience and emotional regulation. Through empathetic listening and skillful guidance, I assist clients in identifying and healing attachment wounds, enabling them to cultivate more secure connections with themselves and others.

I have a passion for empowering couples to navigate challenges in their relationships and deepen their emotional bonds. I facilitate open and honest dialogues that lead to emotional vulnerability and the creation of more secure and fulfilling partnerships.

I understand that taking the steps to begin counseling can be vulnerable and intimidating, and so I work to create a safe, inviting and comforting environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. Drawing from my theoretical knowledge and practical skills, I tailor interventions that address each client's unique needs, fostering healing and personal growth.

I am currently accepting clients in person or telehealth in Florida under the supervision of Joshua Hostetter, MA LMHC.
