Providing therapeutic support for others is at the core of my motivation to be a therapist. Friends and family are integral to all of our existence, yet there are times we need safe, comfortable, professional, and qualified support in our life. That was my motivation in launching Hostetter Counseling in 2013. I desired to provide a counseling option for the greater Pottstown region that offers a holistic perspective of individuals, partnered with quality care and realistic therapeutic support to conquer personal challenges people experience in life.

I work with adolescents through adults who experience all types of mental and emotional distress. I am certified in addictions counseling and work with both those struggling with addiction and their family members. I am also in the process of being certified in Schema Therapy; an approach to counseling which I believe fits perfectly with my holistic approach to therapy.

I believe hospitality is not a value just for home and so I make it a point to make my clients feel at home when coming into therapy. Becoming vulnerable with another person is some of the most challenging work we have to do in therapy and a comfortable, welcoming environment can help bring someone into that level of honesty.

I have been licensed to practice counseling in PA since 2009 and have worked in both the community and private sectors of mental health and drug and alcohol counseling.  I have a strong network of professionals around me and continue to look for opportunities within the Pottstown community to be a viable resource for others.

I recognize that considering counseling is a courageous step and I am glad you are taking the opportunity to visit our website. As a therapist at Hostetter Counseling, I seek to walk alongside my clients, at a pace that is comfortable for them, and help to facilitate the process of growth and healing.

I graduated from Biblical Theological Seminary in 2013 and I continued on in the Certificate for Advanced Professional Counseling program and finished in 2014.  I have worked in the field of mental health for over seven years and have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have also worked in specialized settings including those with veterans, sexually abused children and adolescents, severely mentally ill adults, and in a school-based partial hospitalization program.

My areas of specialty and interest include: anxiety disorders, trauma and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, co-dependency and relationship conflict, and health behavior change.  I am also experienced in treating mood disorders, addictions, and grief.  I enjoy engaging people in questions surrounding spirituality, identity, and sexuality and strive to approach each counseling relationship holistically.  I am also certified in PREPARE/ENRICH for individuals interested in pre-marital counseling.

I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.  I am also on track to obtain my licensure in early 2017 and am supervised by Joshua Hostetter.
